I mean we ask for equal career choices, opportunities, equal pay as men..
but when it finally bogs down to work...
real, real, dirty work
we shrug our shoulders and say..
'Na, too tough on me. Let him do it.'
So women still want car doors to be opened for them, their suitcases carried by their hapless male counterparts..
they go on leave indiscriminately
leaving him to finish her pending, piling work ....
'mujhse nahi hoga,' she says with that lovely smile of hers and wave of her wavy hair to one side.
And then coolly take the credit, that was due to him.
She won't take up transfers anywhere in the country...
her family is her primary concern..
what about his?
She loves being pampered, 'cause she's a woman, after all.'
She gets choice seats in professional courses, completes her education diligently, promptly gets married and sits at home.
All her life.
One more vital seat that would have been handy for a male now down the drain.
Then why, O, why do women clamor for equal opportunity, equal pay as men..
when they aren't ready to get their jobs well done?
