'As a man thinks in his heart so is he.'
Our mind is powerful. It is highly imaginative. A world of pictures. A visionary. If we would just think right we would end up doing the right things.
But so often we misuse it's awesome potential.
We imagine our neighbour is a no good fellow. Because he looks nasty. But did we delve into his life a bit to find out why he is the way he is? Maybe he had a tough past. A bad upbringing. Or an abusive dad.
What about the difficult boss? Or even the aggressive girlfriend? Did she have a tough time working her way up in life making her a capable but aggressive woman?
Men conjure up dirty images of females in their minds. It starts with the mind. That innocuous thought. He keeps pondering over it till it becomes an obsession. Then it leads to perverted action. And he falls into sinful habits which become difficult to break all his life.
A crow flies over your head. Fine. But allowing it to make a nest in your hair?
So are thoughts. If it just passes your mind ..you can't help it. But allowing it to linger in your mind builds a stronghold. Of lust, envy, bitterness etc. They shape the way you think of others and unconsciously pattern your actions too.
Thoughts lead to action.
'If a man looks at a woman with lust in his heart...he has already committed adultery with her.'
How many of us are guilty of this really?
Could we beak this pattern of thinking? Surely we can.
By not just emptying our minds and leaving it vacant but filling it up with God's word. His thoughts.
He views women differently. As equals and complementing a man. Not a doormat to wipe his dirty feet or a puncing bag to absorb silently his painful blows. She needs his support not his leering looks. She needs his hands to prop her up when she falls... not take advantage of her weakness.
Someone who understands and not condemns.
Let not our circle of friends, our background or circumstances affect our mindset.
Our thoughts are like bogies in a train. New thoughts good or bad attach themselves one to the other over a period of time forming a train of thoughts.
Wrong thoughts can derail you ultimately.
Right ones lead to the right destination.
Just think right..
Act right.
Change your world.
Transform your life.
